Step 1: Upload the Video to Shopify
From your Shopify store’s admin, click on Settings.
Next, you need to click on the Files.
To upload a video that you’ve already downloaded in your system, you need to click on Upload Files.
Select the video from your system and upload it.
So, here’s the video that we uploaded.
Step 2: Create a New Section
From your Shopify store’s dashboard, go to Online Store and click on Themes. Next, find the theme that you wish to edit on, then click on Actions and Edit Code.
Scroll down the left scrollbar until you find the Sections directory. Click on Add a new section and enter a name for that section. Here, I’m taking it as a Homepage video.
When you click on Create Section, you’ll be directed to a template with space to add your section schema, CSS stylesheet, and JS.
Step 3: Include the New Section on Home Page
Now, move on to the theme editor through Customize option.
To add the new section, click on Add Section.
Search for the section name that you created in the code editor. Here, I’m searching for “Video”. Click on it!
From here, you can enter the video heading, size, cover image, URL, and alt text.
Lastly, when you’re done with it, don’t forget to hit the Save button.
