Case study · WooCommerce → Shopify migration
AVP Ayurveda: a full WooCommerce-to-Shopify move, with no rankings lost.
AVP Ayurveda moved from WordPress/WooCommerce to Shopify with their full catalogue, content and SEO intact — and their brand design rebuilt to match. PRP Webs ran the whole migration end to end: audit, data transfer, design rebuild, a complete redirect map to protect rankings, speed work, testing and a managed go-live.
The challenge
AVP Ayurveda is a traditional Ayurveda brand with a large catalogue and a content-rich site — product pages, education and research sections, policies and a blog. On WordPress/WooCommerce they faced the usual growing pains: plugin upkeep, speed and reliability. They wanted Shopify's stability and checkout — but with two firm conditions: don't lose the Google rankings, and don't change how the brand looks.
What we did
Full audit first
We mapped every page, post, product, collection, media file and SEO setting on the WordPress/WooCommerce site — so nothing was lost in the move.
Clean Shopify setup
We set up the Shopify store and configured currency, tax, shipping and payment methods, then installed the right apps for SEO, reviews and payments.
Complete data migration
Products (names, descriptions, prices, SKUs, inventory, images), collections, customers, historical orders, blog posts and pages — all migrated and checked against the source.
Design matched, page by page
We rebuilt the look on Shopify so it matched the brand — the home page, all product pages (including Kumkumadi Thailam and Kanaka Thailam), and the Education, R&D, Co-brand, GAF and FAQ pages.
Metafields instead of custom fields
We replaced WordPress custom fields with native Shopify metafields and theme blocks, so the team can edit content without code.
SEO preserved with redirects
A complete 1:1 redirect map sent every old WordPress URL to its new Shopify URL, with titles, meta and schema carried over — so Google kept the rankings.
Faster store
Image optimisation, lazy loading and caching to make the new store load quickly on mobile and desktop.
Tested everything before launch
Payment gateways, apps and integrations (email, reviews, CRM), mobile responsiveness and browser/device checks — all verified before go-live.
Smooth go-live + training
A managed DNS switch to take the store live, then training for the team on managing products and content in Shopify.
The result
AVP Ayurveda now runs on Shopify — faster, more reliable and easier for the team to manage — while looking exactly like the brand customers already knew. The full catalogue, customers, orders and content moved across with no data loss, and the 1:1 redirect map preserved the search rankings through the switch. PRP Webs continues to support the store with ongoing SEO.
Frequently asked questions
What was the AVP Ayurveda project?
AVP Ayurveda, a traditional Ayurveda brand, ran on WordPress/WooCommerce and wanted the speed and reliability of Shopify without changing how their brand looked. PRP Webs migrated the full store — products, customers, orders, blog and pages — rebuilt the design on Shopify, and preserved their search rankings.
Did the move to Shopify affect their Google rankings?
No. We exported a ranking baseline first, built a complete 1:1 redirect map from every old URL to its new Shopify URL, and carried over titles, meta and schema — so the rankings transferred cleanly to the new store.
Was the design changed during the migration?
No — the brand look was preserved. We rebuilt the existing design on Shopify page by page, including the home page, product pages and the Education, R&D and FAQ pages, so customers got the same familiar experience on a faster platform.
How does PRP Webs handle a WooCommerce to Shopify migration?
We start with a full audit, set up and configure Shopify, migrate all data with validation, rebuild the design, set up 301 redirects to protect SEO, optimise speed, test thoroughly, then do a managed go-live and train the team. See our WooCommerce to Shopify migration service for details.
