Technical foundation

Submit your sitemap.xml in Google Search Console and confirm pages are indexed.
Fix crawl errors, broken links and redirect chains (aim for single-hop 301s).
Set one canonical version of every page; avoid duplicate URLs from filters and tags.
Pass Core Web Vitals — compress images to WebP/AVIF, lazy-load below-fold media, trim apps.
Make sure the store is mobile-first and the primary CTA is visible above the fold.
Use a clean, descriptive URL handle for every product, collection and page.

On-page SEO

Write a unique title tag (≤60 chars) with the target keyword near the front.
Write a unique meta description (≤155 chars) with a benefit and a soft call to action.
Use one clear H1 per page and logical H2/H3 structure.
Add descriptive, keyword-aware alt text to every meaningful image.
Interlink related products, collections and blog posts with descriptive anchor text.
Avoid keyword cannibalization — one primary page per target keyword.

Content & structured data

Write original product descriptions — never copy the manufacturer text.
Add Product schema (price, availability, ratings) for rich results.
Add a real FAQ section with FAQPage schema, using the questions Google shows in "People Also Ask".
Add Breadcrumb and Organization schema sitewide.
Build topic clusters — supporting blog posts that link to your money/collection pages.
Keep key pages fresh; update and re-date genuinely improved content.

Authority & off-page

Earn links to deep pages (collections, guides), not just the homepage.
List the brand in relevant, real directories and get unlinked brand mentions linked.
Publish original data or guides worth citing; pitch them for coverage.
Keep NAP (name, address, phone) identical across the site, Google Business Profile and citations.

AI Overviews & GEO (2026)

Structure pages as clear definitions + Q&A so AI Overviews can quote them.
Answer the exact question in the first 1–2 sentences (front-load the answer).
Cite concrete numbers, steps and tables — the formats AI Overviews lift verbatim.
Track which queries show an AI Overview and whether your page is a cited source.
